Hi there, so nice to meet you! I'm Melissa Mayrie, the girl behind the lens. My middle name pays tribute to both of my grandmothers whose middle names were May and Marie. I love that my mom was so thoughtful when creating that name just for me!
I'm a northern girl settled into my southern home, where I've grown accustomed to strange looks when I order my tea unsweet, yet have found myself tossing around a y'all every now and again. Life brought me to North Carolina twelve years ago for my first career as a biology professor which thankfully led me to my husband Cory, one of those rare Charlottean natives, along the way. We have the two most precious kiddos, Margaret & Harrison, whom are the loves of our lives!
I have a deeply sentimental heart and a love for preserving the moments that often pass too quickly. I’m drawn to the quiet connections, the in-between expressions, and the small details that make each season feel the way it does. Through my work, I create images that reflect your life as it is so you can return to these memories not just to see them, but to feel them again for years to come.

My love for animals cannot be denied. Our household consists of 3 dogs & 2 cats (all rescues!) who totally run the show!

Big fluffy blooms are the way to my heart. We've even tried to grow our own heirloom roses, but alas, my thumbs are not very green.

My husband and I love travelling to historic districts stateside and abroad. Give me all the charm!

My early years working at a jewelry store helped cultivate my love for ribbon & bows, sparkles & pearls.
