Jaylen & David
A Pink and Dusty Blue Wedding
Brakefield at Riverwalk | Rock Hill, SC
I’m so excited to be sharing Jaylen and David’s beautiful blush pink and dusty blue summer wedding with you! It was a perfect May afternoon in Rock Hill, SC overlooking the Catawba River filled with sunshine, plenty of love, and sweet romantic details. Scroll along with me to catch a glimpse of their day as they said “I Do” beneath a delicate floral arbor.
A Blush Pink & Dusty Blue Wedding Design
When Jaylen first reached out to me about being her wedding photographer, we immediately bonded over our mutual love affair with blush pink and dusty blue bridal details. They just so happened to be the same colors I used in my own wedding so I was thrilled to see how Jaylen would incorporate them into her special day! It’s safe to say that she had a very specific vision and – my goodness – did she deliver because everything was stunning! From blush robes and bridesmaids dresses for the ladies, to blue suits for the guys… From blue silk ribbon embellishments, all the way down to the floral envelope inserts… it was a romantic vision come true!
Gentle Spirits
While the pretty details are easy on the eye, it’s truly the couple that make the wedding day special. From the first time I met Jaylen and David at their engagement session, it was so evident just how perfect they are for each other. They had driven into Charlotte, NC from their home over an hour away and met me at a local park at sunset. I quickly came to know them as gentle spirits with the ability to communicate with one another without any words exchanged. Just one glance of the eye or a squeeze of the hand was enough to express their love, exude joy, or offer reassurance. As a viewer looking in, you knew they were made for one another because the best moments were Jaylen’s ability to sneak the sweetest smiles out of David and David’s ability to get Jaylen laughing straight from belly.
Happy Tears
What I loved the most about Jaylen and David’s wedding day was the anticipation leading up to the ceremony because they both were just so excited to see each other for the first time at the altar. As the day began, I met the ladies at their hotel where the room was filled with joy and plenty of selfies. I asked Jaylen how she was feeling and she lit up with excitement because she couldn’t wait to see David after a night apart. Once at the venue, they each read private letters written for each other ahead of the ceremony. Tears were shed and they certainly wouldn’t be the last ones witnessed for the day. Both Jaylen and David had the sweetest reactions to seeing each other while coming down the aisle and topped it off with the most heartfelt vows.
Happily Ever After
Once they were pronounced the new Mrs. and Mrs., Jaylen and David enjoyed a beautiful reception with their closest family and friends where cake was cut (and face-smashed)! DJ BhD got the dancefloor moving with the cupid shuffle and, subsequently, the kiddos showed off their best moves. Of special note, both the bride and groom had a dance-off with the flower girl! Now it’s time to relive this beautiful day through their photos and, above all, I’m sending along a heartfelt THANK YOU to The Cuthbertsons for bringing me along on your wedding journey!
